系统允许不同类型的现场总线在同一现场控制器中混合使用并同时运行。每个现场控制器允许插 入4块的现场总线接口卡件(卡件类型可以不同)，每个卡件连接1条现场总线以采集来自总线的过程 数据和诊断信息，接口卡件更换容易且即插即用(Plug & Play)。现场控制器通过系统网络DigiNetS (Industrial Ethernet)与其它控制站、操作站、及工程师站进行通讯
